Company Profile
GENERAL PT Voksel Electric Tbk. ("the Company') was established in Jakarta on April 19, 1971. Since 1989, the Company became a foreign capital investment through a joint venture agreement with Showa Electric Wire & Cable Co. Ltd Japan ("Showa'). In concurrent with its aggressive growth strategy, the Company issued its initial public offering in the Jakarta and Surabaya Stock Exchanges on December 20th 1990. Through consistent hard work and dedication from all management and employees, the Company soon positioned itself as one of the leading cable manufacturers in Indonesia. The Company's core businesses include manufacturing of power, telecommunication and fiber optics cables.
Through its continuous pursuit for quality excellence, the Company was awarded numerous international quality certificates, such as ISO 9002:1994 year 1995, ISO 9001:1994 year 1999 and ISO 9001:2000 year 2003 by SGS Yarsley International Certification Services, Ltd.
MARKET SEGMENT The Company markets its products both domestically and internationally. For domestic market, majority sales stems from PT Perusahaan Listrik Negara ("PLN') and PT Telekomunikasi Indonesia Tbk ("Telkom'). In addition, the Company also supplies free market cables to contractors and distributors. For export sales, the Company markets to various countries such as: Brunei, Philippines, Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Cambodia, Vietnam, Srilanka, Myanmar, Hong Kong, India, Bangladesh, Japan, Nepal, Korea, UAE, Yemen, Fiji Island, Australia, Eqypt, Cyprus, Brazil, Pakistan etc.
PRODUCT RANGE
- Bare Copper: Round wire, rectangular wire, stranded wire.
- Bare Aluminum: Aluminum wire, stranded wire, aluminum conductor steel reinforced.
- Power Cable: Cross linked polyethylene insulated cable low voltage and medium voltage, polyethylene insulated cable, polyvinyl insulated cable.
- Communication Cable: Indoor cable, coaxial cable, jumper wire, burial, drop wire, aerial cable, direct buried cable, duct (conduit) cable.
- Optical Fiber Cable: Loose tube type of silica glass optical fiber cable for indoor, aerial, direct buried, All Dielectric Self Supporting (ADSS) and duct installation.
FINANCE The Company continuously minimizes operating and production costs through cost efficiency programs with emphasis on cross-functional teamwork. The Company also seeks to maximize its return by utilizing its existing financial resources to its utmost potential Besides, the finalization of debt restructuring in the end of 2005 has strengthened the Company's financial condition, depicted in the positive equity position, which would support the Company to widely participate either in local or international tenders.
HUMAN RESOURCE The Company believes that its employees play an integral part in its performance. Therefore, much emphasis is placed on continuous learning and growth to encourage employees to be keen, fast learners and highly skilled. Every employee is qualified, esteemed and motivated. Production operators are trained and assisted by professionals from Showa. To increase productivity of its employees, the Balance Score Card (`BSC') system has been implemented in 2005. The Company also provides Labor Insurance Program for its employees. In addition, religious facilities, canteen and other recreational facilities were set up to provide a productive and comfortable working environment for the employees.

Acquired 60% of PT. Alcarindo Prima’s shares, producer of aluminum wire rods, and 40% of PT. Alcas Dharma Pratama’s shares, producer of aluminum casting alloys. |

With the support of the subsidiaries, PT Voksel Electric Tbk., expanded into a wider range of products, producing low voltage aluminum XLPE cable, and aluminum conductors. |

This year also marked Voksel’s further business expansion by obtaining 25% of PT. Kawat Mas Prakarsa in Tangerang, producer of electrical cable. |
